Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar is the American and British sitar artist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and also the first female recipient. Alongside the nine Grammy awards She was also the first musician of Indian origin to present at and perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka is the emerging star of Indian sitar. She's a daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982. In the first few years of her life she was split in London New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi at the tender age of 13. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha still has a promising performing and recording careers, even though she's only a teenager. Her father was with her on numerous occasions for several years. In 1998, she released her first self-titled album Anourag. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Because she has performed on every major stage in across the globe, she's career on stage has been expansive. Anoushka's career goes beyond the realm of music. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 memoir, that was a tribute Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she was a part as a character in Dance Like a Man as the Bharat Natyam artist. The career of Anoushka Shankar is in the process of developing and she'll continue to achieve great success in the coming years. Anoushka was raised in England, but spent most of her youth between London in the UK and Delhi. Then she moved to California and enrolled in high school. When she was nine years old, she started studying music with her father, who made her debut with the sitar 4 years later during his 75th birthday celebration in Delhi. Anoushka has gained lots of experience touring around the globe along with the father. She appeared at Carnegie Hall in her teenage time, and also recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. Her artistry and musicianship was acknowledged by the British parliament as the best of the best in Asian Arts.
